Hamjern Maskin is a fully owned subsidiary of Furnes-Hamjern Holding as.

The Furnes-Hamjern Group is a foundry and crane group supplying cast iron components and lifting equipment all over the world. The lifting equipment is manufacured by the fully owned subsidiary Munck Cranes, Bergen.

Hamjern Maskin, located in Hamar, supplies machined parts and com-ponents to the group and other companies from its large and modern engineering shop.

The Furnes-Hamjern Group numbers 350 employees, and has a turnover of approximately NOK 350 millions.

The original PFI-mill was first constructed at PFI – Norwegian Pulp and Paper Research Institute - for research purposes. For more than 50 years Hamjern Maskin and PFI have been cooperating on the producti-on, development and sales of the mill.

Hamjern Maskin took over all rights to the PFI-mill in 1998 and the PFI Sheet Former in 2000, and is now solely responsible for production, marketing, sales and service.The parties still cooperate on product development, and PFI will continue to be responsible for calibration, testing and certification.
